NCJW Sacramento Section
Board Meeting Minutes
October 12, 2010

Attending: Carole Jacoby, Lydia Inghram, Doris Gray, Iris Bachman, Irene Jenkins, Maureen Sipes, Renee Schoch, Bonnie Penix, Cheryl Weiner, Barbara Kletzman, and Sharon Cohen

Meeting called to order by Carole Jacoby at 10:05

Minutes: Iris moved and Cheryl seconded the minutes be approved as submitted. Motion carried.

Financial Development: Cheryl Weiner
Suds Fundraiser grossed $8,383 and netted a profit of $2,233 after expenses of $6,150.  One hundred forty-three tickets were sold.

Michelle Sanford was the caterer. The committee will meet 10/20 to do a wrap up of the event.

Future events
Trip to Gladstone Institute in San Francisco on Nov. 30.  $10 will be charged to cover driving expenses and a contribution to the Gladstone. Iris moved  and Maureen seconded that the Board contribute up to $100 toward a donation to the Gladstone.  Motion approved.

Chico's Wardrobe Party
will be at Arden Mall on Feb. 13
Rio Jazz Band is scheduled for a concert at Mosaic Law on March 13.
A Mah Jongg event will be at the Arden Demmick Library on May 12.

Membership: Renee Schoch
A membership brunch will be scheduled for November.  She has nine names of prospective members from the CBS Food Faire.

Financial Secretary: Debbie Gordon
Four members are not paid

Community Service:  Barbara Kletzman
Forty-two blankets have been contributed  since Sept. 1st.
Eye glasses collection will be coordinated by Barbara.  Iris will put in the bulletin.
Diapers and food will be collected for the Crisis Nursery at Founder's Day.
Family Shalom will present Naomi Ackerman on Oct. 27 at Mosaic Law.
Elder Abuse will present first panel on Nov. 16 at Cong. Beth Shalom.
Irene reported that Glen Hammel will train those who will be responding to phone calls on the elder abuse hot line.

Treasurer: Maureen Sipes
Income: $8,890.08    Expenses:  $5,424.80

Program Committee: Doris Gray
Pastry and Politics will be at AERC on Oct. 14  Janet Segal got donations for refreshments.
Hanukkah Party at AERC will be Dec. 8.  A chair is needed.
Founder's Day will be Jan. 16.  A program is needed.
Crocker event will be April 3.
The committee will meet Oct. 28.

Old Business
We will be making our own web stickers.
Convention:  March 3 -5
Details are needed from National regarding cost, times, etc.  Information will be in bulletin

New Business:
Hadassah Women of Distinction nominee will be Nanette Wong.
Carole, Lydia and Irene attended the Non Profit Resources Center's workshop on promoting your organization and found the information to be very useful.

Meeting adjourned at 11:30
Next meeting will be Nov. 9 with Iris hosting.
