Board Minutes
November 9, 2010


Attending:  Carole Jacoby, Doris Gray, Cheryl Weiner, Debbie Gordon, Renee Schoch, Iris Bachman, Barbara Kletzman, Gay Tanner, Irene Jenkins, Goldie Block, and Lydia Inghram, Sharon Cohen

Meeting called to order by Carole Jacoby at 10:05

Minutes: Correction Janet Segal should read Segall. Iris moved and Renee seconded to accept the minutes as corrected.

Financial Development:  Cheryl Weiner
Iris moved and Renee seconded to donate the proceeds from the Mah Jongg event, "Suds", and the little house collection to the Crisis Nursery.  Cheryl  will send a letter of intent to the Crisis Nursery regarding the donation.

Membership:   Renee Schoch
Brunch for Nov. 14 is being canceled for lack of response.  Twenty invitations were sent and only one positive response was received.  The next brunch will be scheduled for February.
 
Community Service:  Barbara Kletzman
Blankets: Seventy have been made since Sept. 1st
Eyeglasses collection: Information was presented on VSP program and possible drop-off sites were discussed.  Gay will make flyers requesting that eyeglasses be brought to the Hanukkah Party
Barbara will call WEAVE to find out if they are interested in receiving travel size toiletries and dental supplies.
 
Family Shalom
Naomi Ackerman performance t was a success.
A sub-committee will be established with representatives from Family Shalom, NCJW Board, a CPA and an attorney to clarify rules regarding financial matters.
 
Elder Abuse Committee
Irene Jenkins and committee have distributed flyers about the event on Nov. 16 at CBI.  Everything is going as planned.
 
Public Affairs:  No report
 
Treasurer
Income  - $18,360.94
Expenses - $8,273.81
 
Financial Secretary:  Debbie Gordon
Six unpaid members will be called.  Those unpaid in March will be dropped.
 
Corresponding Secretary:  No report
 
Program: Doris Gray
Pastry and Politics was a success
Hanukkah Party will be Dec. 8. and a sign up sheet for contributions was sent around.  Ken Meyers will play the keyboard
Founder's Day will be at the Hilton Hotel.  Lunch will cost $25 with a minimum of sixty.  The charge will be $36, and $10 will go towards membership for those who are not members and wish to join.

Jan. 15th deadline for 21st mailing

Old Business
Convention:  Carole will email registration information. Possible attendees will be Carole, Lydia, Iris and Cheryl.  $1,500 subvention will be divided by those willing to make a two year leadership commitment.
Council Shabbat at Cong. Beth Shalom with be either March 18th or 25th
K-O-H Library discussion tabled
Debbie moved and Renee seconded the Hannah G. Soloman award be given to Barbara Goldberg at Founder's Day.
Center for Sacramento History:  Debbie has agreed to accept NCJW's historical records and take them to CSH.  She will write an article for the bulletin.
