NCJW Board Minutes

June 15, 2010
 
Attending:  Carole Jacoby, Lydia Inghram, Betty Reuben, Goldie Block, Iris Bachman, Renee Schoch, Naomi Kabakov, Debbie Gordon, Marianne Laws, Barbara Kletzman, Sharon Cohen
 
Meeting called to order at 7:00 by Carole Jacoby
 
Minutes:  The following corrections were made to the 5/18/10 minutes. Paid-up / Installation event is June 27.
Iris moved and Goldie seconded that the minutes be accepted as corrected.  Minutes approved.
 
Fundraising: No report
 
Membership
Eleven new members are coming to the Paid-up/Installation event, and there are sixty-eight reservations .  Iris will send out email to remind members to bring items for the Crisis Nursery.  Betty Reuben will install officers.
Lydia met with a group of women from Lincoln who were interested in learning about NCJW.  They would like to be involved with the Blanket Project, bags for the Crisis Nursery and Sister Nora's Place.  Lydia will follow up with them.
 
Community Service
 
Blanket Project:  Barbara reported 144 blankets have been made.  The women at Sister Nora's Place would like to participate, and donations of yarn are needed.
 
Elder Abuse:  The committee is developing a panel for educating community on various aspects of elder abuse.
 
Family Shalom:  Betty Reuben reported the committee is negotiating with Naomi Acherman regarding the cost of presenting her play to YaChad.  Oct. 27 is the possible date and the program would be open to the community as well as teens and their parents.
 
Treasurer
Financial report will be available at next meeting
 
Financial Secretary
Debbie reported June 2nd dues billing will be sent to ninety-two annual members.  Second billing will be sent in early July
 
Tributes
$400 was collect since last report
 
Program
A game night and  pot luck for Aug. 7 was discussed.
 
Bulletin/ Website
July 15 is the bulletin deadline
Iris will email updated calendar
 
Old Business
By-laws proposal to increase the limit on donations that can be made to other organizations has been submitted to National.
 
Council Shabbat at Congregation Beth Shalom in March
 
New meeting time will be 10:00 Am on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
 
July 13th will be a budget meeting
