My mother, Bess Finkelstein, was a cook and
baker extraordinaire. She baked the lightest,
fluffiest sponge cakes before the joys of
electric mixers. She beat the whites with a
hand rotary beater. She creamed butter and
sugar by hand and produced wonderful
cakes. The favorite part for me was licking
the bowl. Her Passover Chocolate Chip Cake is
a winner!!
