Dear Member,

There is a place that shares your ideals—a place where women believe things should and can be better. It is the National Council of Jewish Women.  By renewing your membership in the Sacramento Section, you remain part of this powerful organization.

After a year full of accomplishments and excitement, we are looking forward to an even better 2010-2011.

Here are a few of our 2009-2010 successes:

• Our 50th Anniversary Gala was an exhilarating, inspiring and nostalgic evening.
• We launched three new community service projects: knitting baby blankets, caps and booties for two local hospitals; providing meals for Sister Nora’s House; and giving clothing and support to the Sacramento Children’s Nurseries.
• Our new committee to educate the community about Elder Abuse researched issues and won a grant from the Sacramento Jewish Federation to continue work in this important area.
• The Family Shalom project continues to educate teens about healthy, responsible relationships.
• Our mah jongg and scrabble events brought members together for fun and fund-raising.

Next year, we plan many more educational and social activities. Join us for Pastries and Politics, a movie night, or our NCJW Shabbat at Beth Shalom.
